Lifeboost Coffee Review 2021 - Low Acid, Single Origin, Specialty Coffee

I am a coffee lover myself and indulge in my favorite cuppa atleast twice a day. But coffee does come with it's downside for people with conditions like acid reflux, acidity and the like.  And I can relate to this problem completely as I  do have discomfort sometimes and to be honest, my reflux does increase with coffee intake. But I also love coffee and have been drinking good coffee for over 30 years now that I am unable to kick the habit. So what's the  solution ? Should I switch to coffee with low acidity ? What determines the acidity of a coffee bean ? I have tried to be as objective as one can be in presenting this. In a moment, let's find more about this.

Coffee's Health Benefits

Coffee does seem to have health benefits - that is, if you have a good digestion. Coffee when consumed in moderation could improve energy levels, increase metabolism, improve exercise performance, lower  risk of  Type 2 diabetes and, even lowers the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, Cardiovascular disease, Cancer and Parkinson's disease as per studies at leading institutes. Johns Hopkins Medicine recently reported that, according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, “it’s safe for most people to drink three to five cups of coffee a day with a maximum intake of 400 milligrams of caffeine.”  Some of these sound like tall claims indeed but drinkers do experience an instant energy boost. However with all that said, coffee is a nervous stimulant and so it's better to consume coffee(or any food for that matter) in moderation. Each individual is best suited to find out his safe limits based on his or her own experience with this drink. Decaf coffees may have low caffeine but I am not getting into that in this post.

Types of Coffee Beans

Beans from different countries can usually be distinguished by differences in flavor, aroma, body, and acidity. Primarily, there are 3 major types of coffee beans. These are Robusta, Liberica and Arabica with sub-types under these 3 varieties. These types of beans take on different flavors while they are being processed and harvested in different regions across the world mostly in Asia, Africa and America.

Coffee Quality and Acid Levels

People around the world have been searching for low acidic coffee and how to reduce acid in coffee. The right coffee acidity chart could show a pH difference(measure of acidity) ranging from small to significant amounts in acidity based on the type of coffee beans you choose. Usually the darker roasted variety of beans have a lower acidity than the lighter roasts. The more the coffee bean is roasted, the more acids (flavors) are killed and so the lesser acidic the coffee. If you struggle with acidity, reflux or indigestion, a medium to dark roast is always a better choice for you.

Light roasted beans are typically higher in acidity, but cold brewing could reduce those levels down. So if you find a light roast that you really love, just cold brew it and you may be OK. It has been found that the coffee produced in South America is of premium quality and has low acidity. In fact, some studies say you could enjoy 3 to 4 cups of Coffee a day if you drink the right kind. But as I said earlier, moderate consumption is the key. Some images of beans are shown below. Let's explore further.

Best coffees in the world - The Delicious, Organic, Low-acid and specialty Coffees

The Best Low Acid Coffee beans, especially certified organic ground coffee could be well tolerated and enjoyed by even those with acidity issues or stomach discomfort provided it is genuinely certified organic. But the bad news is that these types of low acid coffee that are certified organic may not be found in most grocery stores or even in the best coffee shops in the world including Starbucks.

However, the best coffee in the world has to be undoubtedly the one that is also healthy and free of pesticides, harmful chemicals, GMOs and mycotoxins. While most coffee bean varieties clock between 4 to 5 on the pH scale that measures acidity, Lifeboost coffee ranks at 6. The higher the pH value, the lesser the acidity. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. A coffee with a pH value of 6 is probably the one with least acidity. Depending on where a coffee fruit is grown, it can yield beans with less acidity.

Lifeboost Coffee - Is this better ?

Lifeboost Organic coffee has both Caffeinated and Decaffeinated versions. Lifeboost call out these features as unique benefits of their premium coffee -

1. The most delicious and healthiest cup of specialty coffee possible.

2. Clean and pure ingredients to ensure there are never any pesticides. The berries are sourced from the highest quality farms located in a  nationally-protected area of Central America. The coffee is then carefully roasted according to exact specifications to produce delicious, low-acid coffee you’ll love.

3. Lifeboost offers free shipping on all orders over $50 and offer a satisfaction guarantee with a refund offer.

4. Most of the best ground coffee in supermarkets and so-called low acid coffee in grocery stores and coffee shops is a mix-match of beans from various plants and countries around the world. With blends, you might get beans mixed with pesticide-soaked beans. However, every bag of Lifeboost Organic coffee is guaranteed single-origin. Each bag is filled with beans from the same farm, the same plant, and the same roast profile. Single-origin coffee is coffee grown within a single known geographic origin. Single origin coffees can offer unique characteristics and specific tastes when compared to blended coffee.

5. Mycotoxins are mold toxins that can occur in coffee. Mycotoxins can trigger anything from painful, full-body-inflammation to debilitating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and linked to kidney diseases.  Lifeboost coffee is MYCOTOXIN-FREE.

6. Lifeboost coffee  is shade grown. For the best-tasting coffee, you don’t want the sun beating down on the beans harming the natural maturation and rich, complex flavor. Only 2% of the world’s coffee is shade-grown. With shade-grown coffee, no pesticides are needed.

7. Here is the final no-brainer. One of the biggest complaints about coffee is the digestive discomfort from some brews. You probably know all about it yourself… the heartburn, indigestion, bathroom trips, and more due to the acid in the stomach. Lifeboost guarantees it's coffee won’t bother your stomach! There’s nothing inside that can trigger excess stomach acid or affect digestion. Light, medium, dark or espresso, you choose your beans and your stomach is happy.

6. On top of low acidity, Lifeboost Coffee beans have none of the junk swimming around in most coffees that aggravates your stomach. That means no pesticides, chemicals, GMOs, and mycotoxins.
